The first video I created on YouTube was of me wanting to be of service in the middle of the pandemic. I recorded it six months before I actually published it. Family Recovery Society was still “Mother’s Recovery Society” and we were just starting to organize a community for fathers in recovery.
In this video, I share a little bit about why I want to start a YouTube channel, my personal struggle with addiction, and what supports have helped me on my path of recovery. I also share about how being of service and helping others with their struggles around mental health and addiction, helps to encourage me and give me hope on my own path of recovery.
In this video, I’m honest about experiencing grief around missing my children, who moved in with their father. I talk about how I believe every obstacle I have overcome has strengthened me and made me more committed to my recovery, my sobriety, and myself. I share a little bit about my personal perspective on addiction. To me, addiction has nothing to do with the what. It’s all about the why.
My goal with my videos is to be authentic, simple and share what I’ve learned about mental health and addiction. I don’t have all the answers, but I hope by sharing openly what has helped me, this information will help others know they are not alone in their struggles and that recovery is possible.
I hope you can relate to this video of me talking about my story of recovery from addiction. I am very grateful for everyone that engages and encourages me in sharing my education & experience by commenting, liking & subscribing to my YouTube channel. Your encouragement means a lot to me. I am very grateful for your support! Frances Stone, CCAC #addicton #recovery #therapy #counselling
